Pyotr Tchaikovsky is one of the greatest composers, whose work is a valuable contribution to world music culture. Tchaikovsky’ The Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 35, written in 1878, is one of the best known violin concertos. Recorded in 1959, The Violin Concerto is performed by the violin virtuoso Leonid Kogan with Orchestre de la Société des Concerts du Conservatoire, conducted by Constantin Silvestri, is considered to be one of the best public recordings available.
